    Fix your dead battery by using a DC power source to raise its voltage. Note: do NOT use a DC power source with more voltage than the maximum rated voltage of the dead battery. If you have a regular 18V or 20V battery pack, that's 21V max (4.2V x5). Do not use a DC power source more than 21V to revive the dead 21V battery. About the wires with alligator clips: make sure you use heavy gauge wires size AWG 14 or bigger. The alligator clips with attached wires from Harbor Freight are not going to make it as the wires are too thin and they will heat up and just melt or burn the insulation right away.     I finally did an experiment to find out if I can run my TV on 18650 batteries and a DC to AC inverter. I used four 18650 batteries, taken from cheap ($3) powerbanks. I made a simple battery holder out of PVC and bolts to put the batteries in series, resulting in a fully charged voltage of 16.8V. I connected a 300 WATT DC/AC inverter that's usually used inside vehicles. That steps my 16.8V DC up to 220V AC, allowing me to power a TV, Fan and other AC appliances. Run time is limited by the capacity of the batteries, but it's a fun project none the less. I cut one of these cells open to end the debate about whether or not they are 2-18650's inside. I'll go through the BMS in an upcoming video. It's a real BQ battery gauge IC so i have no doubt it functions as such. These are wonderfully built and perfect for 12/24/48V systems. Don't try this at home. Cutting open batteries is dumb and should be left to us professional dummies. I did not say "go buy them now as an advertisement", I am literally going to buy whatever he has left so if you want any for your projects, you better get them soon. I will wait until next Thursday before I drive up and get whatever he still has and I will not be selling any of them.

I finally did an experiment to find out if I can run my TV on 18650 batteries and a DC to AC inverter. I used four 18650 batteries, taken from cheap ($3) powerbanks. I made a simple battery holder out of PVC and bolts to put the batteries in series, resulting in a fully charged voltage of 16.8V. I connected a 300 WATT DC/AC inverter that's usually used inside vehicles. That steps my 16.8V DC up to 220V AC, allowing me to power a TV, Fan and other AC appliances. Run time is limited by the capacity of the batteries, but it's a fun project none the less. The success of electric vehicles depends largely on their energy storage system. Lithium-ion batteries currently feature the best properties to meet the wide range of requirements specific to automotive applications – high energy density, long lifetime, good power capabilities and low cost. However, the safety and reliability of lithium ion batteries can be problematic if they are not handled appropriately. Exposing lithium ion batteries to extremely high or low temperatures, voltages or excessive currents results in accelerated battery degradation and in the worst case, battery failure. We just decommissioned our huge, trusty, 650 pound Lead Acid battery bank that powered our off-grid showroom, and replaced it with a lithium bank. Made with 4 CALB CA180FI, 3.2 Volt, 180 AH Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cells http://www.lightharvestsolar.com/catalog/item/8735074/10310342.htm, Wired in series, it makes a "12 Volt" battery which weighs about 55 pounds. Absolutely incredible performance, particularly with regard to discharge rate (360 Amps for the CA180FI, which seems to be about 6 times better than AGM batteries. That's the magic with these, such a high discharge rate allows us to power bigger loads with a much smaller, lighter, battery, plus get a lifespan 4-5 times longer. The significance of this, with regard to off-grid power systems, cannot be understated. There are other enormous advntages, the biggest being that they are very light so if you are in a RV, you now can enjoy many of life's electrically powered pleasures that were impossible before, think microwave, coffee pot, toaster, hair dryer, hot plate, etc.. If you have the solar panels to recharge it, even air conditioning should be possible. This is going to be big, very big! -PLEASE NOTE THIS PACK DOES NOT HAVE A BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, DO NOT DO THIS! We are doing a test and monitoring the cells closely for an out of balance condition. ALWAYS USE A BMS.

First ever video edit for this channel. Haha! They are awesome and will work great for my new Powerwall project. I cut one of these cells open to end the debate about whether or not they are 2-18650's inside. I'll go through the BMS in an upcoming video. It's a real BQ battery gauge IC so i have no doubt it functions as such. These are wonderfully built and perfect for 12/24/48V systems. Don't try this at home. Cutting open batteries is dumb and should be left to us professional dummies. I did not say "go buy them now as an advertisement", I am literally going to buy whatever he has left so if you want any for your projects, you better get them soon. I will wait until next Thursday before I drive up and get whatever he still has and I will not be selling any of them.
